Hydramist®
Hydramist® for fire suppression is produced using water driven by nitrogen or directly from purpose built pump units. Delivery is via specially engineered nozzles creating a fine mist of water.
The droplets of water absorb large amounts of energy from the fire by latent heat of vapourisation leading to an immediate drop in temperature of the surrounding air and gases.
In the process of evaporation of the Hydramist® the steam created smothers the flames preventing fresh oxygen from reaching and sustaining the fire.
Additionally, the Hydramist® droplets bind and collect a high percentage of smoke particles significantly reducing smoke damage.
Hydramist® systems operate at pressures of 100 – 200bar. The pressure is dissipated as the watermist leaves the nozzle but still carries enough velocity to penetrate and reach the source of the fire.
|
Hydramist® systems present no risk to personnel in any area within the building.
Hydramist® systems are environmentally harmless.
In protected areas Watermist can be used as a primary fire fighting system enabling the safe evacuation of personnel and rapid suppression of the fire. |
Watemist systems can also be used in local applications providing fire protection to individual units such as engines or generators without the need to shut all units down. |
