Restaurants : Nandos Chicken
Until now restaurant fryers have used dry powder of wet chemical fire suppression systems, however these systems offer little cooling to the hot metal surfaces resulting in an increased risk of re-ignition. Additionally they leave a large amount of residues which must be cleaned up before cooking can re-commence. This leaves the kitchen out of action for a very long time - potentially days.
The Hydramist 15AMPU uses tap water to generate mist that effectively smothers fire and prevents re-ignition. The 15AMPU system is fast and effective with the fire being extinguished in under 10 seconds and only a light mist of water to clean up after the fire means that the kitchen can get back to normal operation in minutes.
The Hydramist 15AMPU uses a high pressure pump which is connected to the restaurants water system. This means the unit can run as long or as short as required. The wall mounted Hydramist pump also eliminates storage issues that have been associated with traditional fire suppression systems. The 15AMPU is installed covering the deep fat fryers and other appliances as well as protecting the kitchen canopy and plenum.
The system is expected to have been fitted in over 50 of Nandos Restaurant kitchens in 2015 with more to come in 2016
